He has graciously offered to do a seminar each of the days of CCR to illustrate the variety of tours and accommodations available.

When he’s not presenting, Skip will be one of the folks helping to make CCR what it is by staffing the booth MotoDiscovery. Booth. Be sure to stop by, and check below for repeat times for this seminar!

Group Pleasure with Jay Slomka

What’s the difference between a ‘group’ and a ‘bunch’? Do you have fun when you join a group ride, or do you avoid it? If the answers are not in the affirmative, maybe there’s something missing. Group riding, when done properly and safely can be one of the best times to be had on 2 wheels! Come in and let’s discuss the differences and similarities all of you have concerning group riding with our own ERC and BMF. We think you’ll be surprised!

2:00pm-3:00pm

Room TBD

Jay Slomka Co-Riders

Who are these people back there, hollering in our ears? What do they have to do with anything? Isn’t it just “Sit down—Hold on—Shut up—Enjoy the ride”?

Anyone who subscribes to that is missing all the enjoyment of the 2-UP experience! Let me paraphrase, “If the Co-Rider ain’t happy, ain’t NOBODY happy!!” Let’s explore what goes on back on the pillion seat, how they make, or break, an excursion, how they affect you, the rider, and how you can both enjoy things more! Be sure to bring your Co-Rider with you, if possible.Be sure to bring your Co-Rider with you!

Backroads Magazine Presentation

Brian Rathjen of Backroads Magazine.

If you have never read a copy of Backroads magazine, you haven’t experienced all that motorcycling has to offer! Backroads is also a 1st timer to CCR, and is a welcome addition. Brian, and his very lovely wife, Shira, travel and write. That’s what they do between magazine deadlines, anyway! They have had all sorts of experiences on the road, and Brian is willing to share their thoughts about “Spots That Were HORRIBLE Mistakes” and “Places We Couldn’t Ride Away From Fast Enough”. He just might add in a bit of “Planning Your Ride—Riding Your Plan”. I know you’ll enjoy the time you spend with Brian and Shira. I always have!

The Adventure Continues with Ron Ayres

Author of "Going the Extra Mile – a Handbook for Long Distance Touring" will present a lively 45-minute program that depicts what it is like to participate in one of the company’s African Adventures.  The show is divided into three sections which correspond to the major tour categories offered by Ayres Adventures: Southern Cross (South Africa’s Wild Coast, Garden Route and Wine Route – featuring Cape Town), Call of the Wild (focusing on the wildlife of Botswana and Namibia), and Diamonds, Deserts and Dunes (focusing on Cape Town to Windhoek, Namibia and the attractions of the Namibian deserts).  In addition to the musical video presentation, Ron will offer some observations about riding in various countries and will answer questions about the company’s experience and expertise in conducting these trips.

Digital Photography—Beyond Point-&-Shoot

Do you want to be able to explain how someone took that photo of you with the Mother Superior and her attendant and seamlessly spliced two Hooter’s girls over them? Or do you want to be able to? Then this is not to be missed, folks! Bruce, Pete Jessen, maybe Bob Weir, and who-knows-who-else will be sharing their thoughts, and scavenging yours on things like digital cameras, lenses, shooting RAW vs. JPEG, computing, photo software, printing, resources, and where ever else things lead. If there is ANYTHING you want to know about digital photography, this is the place to go. Just search the photo section of the forums for samples of what CAN be done!

Money in the Bank with Bruce Yates

Bruce Yates will again (for the 6th year in a row) hold this seminar to help sort out these erratic financial times. Bruce's financial seminar has been extremely popular at past reunions. He (and the planners) originally received a great deal of flack for putting a financial seminar on at a "biker" event. But that first session was a hit, proving once again that LT riders are not your average "bikers". Attendees left with a new understanding of financial planning in these confusing times, and the financial session has been a popular part of CCR ever since. Bruce, author and founder of an investment firm with clients in 26 states, is a savvy investment counselor who puts on an excellent presentation. We already have great interest in this session so make your plans to attend.

4:00pm-5:00pm

Room TBD

Finale Banquet

As with every reunion, the Finale Banquet is the event that provides our last chance to gather as a group and enjoy each other's company before the long wait for next year. Join us in the Hotel Ballroom for an evening of Dinner and CCR Entertainment that will include the presentation of our check this year to Barrow County Children’s Advocacy Center. “The Tree House” provides free counseling for child victims of sexual abuse and domestic violence and support services for non-ascending care givers. They do interviews and evaluations when kids disclose abuse that has occurred, working closely with law enforcement, providing prevention services to families thru in home parenting support and offering programs to support first time mothers. They also provide supervised visitation to kids in foster care to allow these kids to visit with parents. We will close with the announcement of the event location and venue for 2007. The cost of the Finale Banquet is included in your reunion fee.
